This Privacy Policy explains how Smile Apps Studio ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the Bible Verse Daily – Reminder app for iPhone, iPad and Android (the "App"). Smile Apps Studio, based in Bengaluru, India, is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

1. Summary

Your favourites, journal notes, reminder times, reading streak and Premium status are stored only on your device. There is no account, and we don't collect or see your personal information. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob; Premium removes them. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App keeps the following on your device only. It is never sent to us:

  • Favourite verses and the notes and prayers you write in your journal
  • Your reading streak and the history of past verses
  • Reminder times, theme and display settings
  • Whether you have bought Premium

All verses (King James Version, public domain) are included in the App, so reading works without an internet connection. If you export your journal, the text is shared only where you choose through your device's share sheet. Deleting the App removes all of this data.

3. Features That Use Your Device

  • Notifications: daily reminders are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in the App or in your device settings.
  • Widgets: the Home Screen (and on iPhone, Lock Screen) widgets show the day's verse and your streak using data stored on your device.
  • Listening to a verse: read-aloud uses your device's built-in text-to-speech voice, provided by Apple or by the speech engine installed on your Android device.
  • Sharing images: verse images are created on your device and shared only when you choose to, through your device's share sheet (for example, to WhatsApp or Instagram).

4. Advertising (Free Version)

Ads in the free version are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, Google may collect:

  • Device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), if you allow it
  • Approximate location based on your IP address
  • Device information, such as model, operating system and language
  • Ad interactions and diagnostic data

Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App first shows Google's consent form so you can choose how your data is used for ads; ads are only loaded if your choices allow it. On iPhone and iPad, the App then asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier isn't used, ads are not personalized, and you can still use the App. Where the consent form applies, you can change your choice later in the App under Settings → Privacy choices.

5. In-App Purchase

Premium is a one-time purchase handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment details. The App checks your purchase with the store to unlock Premium, and you can restore it on a new device from the App.

6. Ratings

The App may occasionally show Apple's or Google's own rating prompt. Any rating or review you leave is handled by the store, not by us.

7. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App has no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

8. Data We Collect Ourselves

None. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Choices

  • Tracking (iPhone and iPad): iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Advertising ID (Android): reset or delete it in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads on some devices).
  • Ad consent: in the App, Settings → Privacy choices (shown where required by law).
  • Ads: buy Premium to remove ads completely.
  • Notifications: turn reminders off in the App or in your device settings.
  • Your data: deleting the App removes all its data from your device.

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date.
