Hindi Radio – Live Hindi FM – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Smile Apps Studio ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the Hindi Radio – Live Hindi FM app for Android (the "App"). Smile Apps Studio, based in Bengaluru, India, is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
1. Summary
Your favourite stations, recently played stations and settings are stored only on your device. There is no account, and we don't ask for or see your name, email address or location. The App shows ads from Google AdMob and uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics from Google to count usage and find crashes. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, ads and analytics start only after you make your choice in the consent form. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App keeps the following on your device. It is never sent to us:
- Your favourite stations, your recently played stations and the last station you played
- Your sleep timer and playback settings
- Simple playback quality statistics, such as how often a station had to buffer, used only on your device
- The latest station list, saved so the App can open without an internet connection
- The station and play state shown on the home-screen widget, and whether you have seen the welcome tip
If Android Backup is turned on, your favourites, recently played stations and settings may be backed up to your own Google account and restored on a new device; this is handled by Android and Google, not by us. Deleting the App removes this data from your device.
3. Features That Use Your Device
- Internet streaming: the App plays radio streams over your internet connection and downloads the station list (see Radio Streams below).
- Notifications: the App shows a playback notification with play, pause and next and previous controls while a station plays. On Android 13 and later the App asks for notification permission; you can change it in your device settings.
- Background play, widget and Android Auto: playback continues in the background, and you can control it from the lock screen, a home-screen widget, headphones or Android Auto. The widget and Android Auto use the same on-device list of stations and favourites.
- Voice search: if you ask Google Assistant to play a station by name, Assistant passes the station name you said to the App so it can start that station. The App does not record audio.
- Sleep timer: uses a standard Android alarm on your device to stop playback.
- Sharing: the Share option sends the station name and a link to the App through your device's share sheet, only when you choose to.
4. Advertising
The App shows banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, Google may collect:
- Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID
- Approximate location based on your IP address
- Device information, such as model, operating system and language
- Ad interactions, app interactions and diagnostic data
Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App first shows Google's consent form so you can choose how your data is used for ads; ads and analytics are only started if your choices allow it. Where the consent form applies, you can change your choice later from the App's menu under Privacy settings.
Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Radio Streams
The radio stations in the App are run by third parties. When you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's streaming server, which can see your device's IP address and technical details of the request, such as the App name, in the same way as any website you visit. We don't control these servers; their handling of data is governed by each station's own privacy practices. Station logos are loaded from the internet in the same way.
6. Analytics and Crash Reporting
The App uses two services from Google (Firebase):
- Firebase Analytics records when the App is opened, which screens are viewed, which station is chosen (its ID, name and genre) and whether it is played or paused, together with standard device and app information and an app-instance identifier. We use this to understand which features and stations are used so we can improve the App. Analytics storage is switched off until the consent flow has run, and where consent is required it starts only if you agree.
- Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report when the App crashes: the technical details of the crash, the state of the App, basic device information and an installation identifier. We use it only to find and fix bugs.
Learn more in Privacy and Security in Firebase.
7. Data We Collect Ourselves
We have no accounts and no user database. The App downloads the station list and its ad settings from our web server; like any web server, it may keep standard technical logs of requests (such as IP address and time), which we do not use to identify you. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Choices
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads on some devices).
- Ad and analytics consent: in the App's menu, Privacy settings (shown where required by law).
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings; the radio still plays.
- Your data: deleting the App removes its data from your device. To ask us about data we may hold, contact us below.
