RoomPeek: Room & Floor Planner – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Smile Apps Studio ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the RoomPeek: Room & Floor Planner app for iPhone and iPad (the "App"). Smile Apps Studio, based in Bengaluru, India, is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

1. Summary

Your rooms, measurements, furniture and layouts are stored only on your device. Scanning and measuring happen on your device, and no camera images or video are saved or sent anywhere. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and the App has no servers of its own, so we don't collect or see your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App keeps the following on your device only. It is never sent to us:

  • Your homes and rooms: wall lengths, room shapes, doors, openings and windows
  • Furniture you add, its sizes and positions, and the layouts you try
  • Your own pieces and shopping list, including any product links and photos you add
  • Your moving-day list
  • Unit, region and other settings, and whether you have bought RoomPeek Pro

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device, this data may be included in that backup according to your Apple settings. You can edit or delete any room or piece in the App, and deleting the App removes its data from your device.

3. Features That Use Your Device

  • Camera: the App asks for camera access only when you choose to scan or measure a room, or to place a piece with AR. The camera feed is processed on your device by Apple's RoomPlan and ARKit frameworks to find walls, floors, doors, windows and furniture. Only the resulting measurements are kept; no images or video are saved or sent anywhere. Typing room sizes never uses the camera.
  • Photos: if you add a photo to a piece of furniture, you pick it with the system photo picker. The App sees only the photo you choose and keeps a copy of it on your device. It does not ask for access to your photo library.
  • Exports and sharing: floor plans (PDF or image), 3D models (USDZ) and moving-day lists are created on your device and shared only where you choose with the share sheet. We never receive them.
  • Links: when you tap a link, such as a product link on your shopping list, it opens in your browser and that website's own privacy policy applies. The App makes no network requests of its own, apart from the App Store purchase check described below.

4. Advertising and Tracking

The App shows no ads and contains no advertising software. It does not use your advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission.

5. In-App Purchase

RoomPeek Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple. We never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The App checks with the App Store whether you have bought Pro, and you can restore it on a new device with Restore Purchase. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Ratings

If you tap Rate RoomPeek in Settings, the App shows Apple's own rating prompt. Any rating or review you leave is handled by the App Store, not by us.

7. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App has no analytics or crash-reporting tools. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated crash reports and usage statistics that don't identify you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

8. Data We Collect Ourselves

None. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply.

9. Children

The App is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information, it does not collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Choices

  • Camera: allow or deny camera access in iOS Settings → RoomPeek. You can always type room sizes instead.
  • Crash reports: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers.
  • Your data: edit or delete any room or piece in the App, or delete the App to remove everything from your device.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date. If a future version adds optional features such as iCloud sync, we'll update this policy before that version is released.
