Byegone: Photo Cleaner – Privacy Policy

1. In Short

• Your photos stay on your iPhone: Byegone reviews, sorts, compresses and deletes photos and videos entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• No account: there is no sign-up, login or profile.
• Ads: the free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads never receive your photos or videos.
• Remove Ads: a one-time purchase handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.

2. Photo Library Access

Byegone asks for permission to access your photo library so it can show your photos and videos, find screenshots and large videos, and delete or compress the items you choose.

• On-device only: all processing happens on your iPhone. We do not upload, copy, store or share your photos, videos, or their details (such as dates, locations or albums), and we have no server that receives them.
• Deleting: items are deleted only after you choose them and confirm in the iOS prompt. iOS moves deleted items to the Recently Deleted album, where you can recover them for up to 30 days.
• Compressing: compressed videos are saved to the photo library on your iPhone and keep their original date, location and favourite status.
• Your control: you can change or remove Byegone's access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

3. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address or contacts through the App.

• On-device data: your settings and review progress are stored locally on your iPhone and are not sent to us.
• Advertising data: Google AdMob and its partners may collect data to show and measure ads, as described in the Advertising section.
• Purchases: Apple processes the Remove Ads purchase. The App only receives confirmation that the purchase is active.
• Crash reports: if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and diagnostics with us.

4. Advertising

The free version of Byegone displays ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use:

• Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking
• Your IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Device information such as model, operating system and language
• Information about how you interact with ads

Advertising partners never receive your photos, videos or photo details. Learn how Google uses this information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. When you allow personalized advertising, sharing this data with advertising partners may be considered a 'sale' or 'sharing' of personal information under some US state laws. We do not sell your personal information for money.

5. Your Privacy Choices

• Tracking: we ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• EEA, UK and Switzerland: before showing personalized ads, we ask for your consent through Google's consent message. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads.
• US residents: you may opt out of the 'sale' or 'sharing' of your personal information for targeted advertising by declining tracking or by emailing us.
• Remove Ads: buying Remove Ads stops ads in the App, and with them the advertising data collection described above.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We do not store your data on our servers. Data kept on your iPhone by the App is removed when you delete the App. Messages you send us by email are kept as long as needed to respond and for our records. Data collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's policies.

7. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

We rely on your consent for personalized advertising and on our legitimate interests for showing non-personalized ads and keeping the App working. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children or serve them personalized ads. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
